Good as INVINCIBLE

Good as Invincible is a Bungou Stray Dogs fanzine centering the ship of Fukuzawa Yukichi and Ranpo Edogawa. The zine will accept SFW, NSFW, canon-compliant, canon-divergent, and AU content. This zine will be released as a free PDF upon completion of the formatting period.

Contributor Requirements

  • General

  • Contributors will be required to join our Discord server for updates, announcements, and general communication for ease of access.

  • Contributors must be 18+ to participate. This zine will feature NSFW content. Any applicant/contributor caught lying about their age will be subsequently removed/banned from future affiliated projects.

  • Pieces may include other characters, however, FukuRan must be the main focus. Background shipping content should remain implied/ambiguous.

  • NO AI OR PLAGIARISM WILL BE TOLERATED. Application works and zine pieces submitted must be original pieces. The mods reserve the right to remove contributors and ban them from future affiliated projects if it is found that works have been created with AI or plagiarized.

  • Artists & Merch Artists

  • Artists will be required to create a piece within the specifications outlined in the server.

  • For page artists, this may be either a singular page illustration or a two-page spread.

  • The Cover artist may choose to create another piece in addition to their cover art, but this is not required. Cover art can be either a single-page illustration or double-page spread.

  • Merch Artists will be required to create two (2) or three (3) digital merch items depending on their items of choice.

  • OPTIONAL: Artists may opt to collaborate with a writer and create spot illustrations for fanfictions within the zine.

  • Writers

  • Writers will be required to write a piece that fits within the specifications outlined in the server.

  • Writers will be given up to 3,000 words, though there is room for leeway if needed. This may be split into two fics if so desired.

  • Fics must be created specifically for the zine. Pieces that serve as additions to an existing fic series/collection are acceptable, as long as they are readable as standalone works.

  • General

  • Everything must be viewable, applications will be dismissed if things are not accessible. Please reach out to the mods if you need assistance! Your portfolio should display your best works altogether.

  • Please make sure your email address is valid. You will be getting your application results via email. Add [email protected] to make sure the email does not go to spam.

  • Your portfolio may be a Google Drive, Carrd, Twitter Moment, Tumblr tag, personal website, DA, Art Station, or any other location where your work can be viewed. Please do not submit anything that is registered user locked, such as links on Artfight, to ensure the mods have access to your pieces. Archive of Our Own is the sole exception.

  • Please include at least one Bungou Stray Dogs sample, FukuRan is not required but highly encouraged

  • Please include 3 samples that best showcase your art/writing style.

  • Artists & Merch Artists

  • Please include three samples that best showcase your grasp of anatomy, composition, and use of color. Full body pieces with semi-detailed backgrounds are preferred. Art pieces should look polished and finished.

  • Merch Artists must include at least one merch sample similar to what they would like to design.

  • Writers

  • For writers, your samples must be 1-1.5k in length.

  • Please submit three samples that best showcase your grasp on grammar, flow, characterization. Excerpts are allowed, but at least one piece must be a full-length story. Twitter threads are not acceptable as samples.

  • What is a zine?
    A zine (short for ‘magazine’) is a non-official publication of fics and art surrounding a certain fandom, ship, and/or theme.

  • What are the requirements for applying? How should we prepare our portfolio?
    Please visit our application guidelines section for information on this!

  • Can we apply for more than one position? Is it possible to be accepted for more than one position?
    Yes, there is no limit on how many positions you can apply for. Whether or not contributors will be accepted for multiple positions will depend on the volume of applications received.

  • Is prior experience necessary to join?
    No, previous experience is not necessary to join! We welcome first time contributors and zine veterans alike.

  • Will you be sending rejection emails as well as acceptance emails?
    All applicants will receive their emails on the same date. More information will come later on.

  • Will the zine be available in a paid/physical format?
    Unfortunately not due to scheduling conflicts and other logistical concerns, though thank you for the enthusiasm!

  • Are we allowed to write Origins!FukuRan, or other minor/adult works? Is this a strictly FukuRan zine or is RanFuku also accepted?
    No there are not restrictions surrounding the pairing. We will have Fukuran and Ranfuku separated in the zine for ease of access, like say X pages is for Fukuran and X pages is for Ranfuku. This is so that everyone can find the dynamic they enjoy the most while also ensuring everyone can feel included!

    Yes you are allowed to write Origins!Fukuran or minor/adult Fukuran / Ranfuku as long as it is properly tagged!

  • Will you allow genderswaps?
    Yes, we will!

  • If I wanted to submit cosplay with my partner, would that be allowed?
    Absolutely!

  • Would it be possible for me to participate anonymously? I can go by a nickname, but I'd rather not share any of my social media in the zine.
    Yes, you can participate anonymously! Contributors have to option to be completely anonymous for the final zine release; however, for applications- which are only seen by the Mods- we do need at least one social media that verifies your age. This is to make sure no antis OR minors join and to keep both the mods and contributors safe.

  • Are there any content restrictions for this zine?
    No, as long as your submission is properly tagged and includes content warnings we will accept any submission/idea related to FukuRan/RanFuku for this zine. The mods will assist with proper tagging/content warnings as needed, and will take care to make sure the zine’s release is accessible for everyone’s enjoyment
